PROMISE Business manager

We have the potential to make the biggest difference for the world’s poorest people when we focus our efforts to make the most of our knowledge and experience. Now, across all our work, we aim to realise that potential – and we want you to help us to lead the way.

Christian Aid has just launched PROMISE, our new programme management information system designed to inform learning, communications and decision making. But to make sure every penny we spend achieves the maximum value for poor and marginalised people, we need more than a system. We also need to strengthen the thinking and practice that goes with it. And that’s where you step in.

We’re looking for an excellent project manager to oversee the roll out and embedding of the PROMISE system and associated business processes across the International Department. You’ll establish and lead a global network of champions, supporting colleagues around the world to get the most out of PROMISE and feeding their experience back into ongoing refinement of the system. In particular, you’ll help managers at every level use the information in the system to make better decisions and both prove and improve our impact on poverty.

You’ll be a persuasive communicator with a track record of successful management and delivery of large-scale projects. You will have knowledge of computerised management systems / databases and highly developed analytical abilities. Ideally, you’ll be familiar with programme cycle management concepts and methods including financial management. Coupled with that, you will have experience of working across cultures, and promoting organisation-wide change.

More than half the world lives in poverty. We aim to put a stop to that. So we campaign against the inequalities that keep people poor and we work with local organisations to give people strength to find their own solutions to the problems they face, irrespective of their religion. If you’re as determined as we are to end poverty and injustice across the world, work with us to make change happen.
