Administrator – Copyright Specialist OHIM

The OHIM is organizing a selection procedure in order to constitute a reserve list from which to fill vacant post(s) of Administrator - Copyright Specialist (M/F).
The EU Observatory on IP infringements (“the Observatory”) was launched by the Commission to respond to the overall threat and to support the enforcement of intellectual property rights. In this,
its main objectives are to analyse the overall scope, scale and impact of IPR infringements in the EU, to improve cooperation and collaboration between those engaged in protecting and enforcing IPR, to ensure the dissemination of best practices in enforcement and to develop greater consumer awareness. On 5TH June 2012, the Observatory was transferred to OHIM.
The Cooperation Programmes Service (CPS) of International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Department (ICLAD) is in charge of leading the definition and implementation of all activities and operations related to the first annual work programme of the Observatory. In doing so, the Cooperation Programmes service must develop a work programme, in consultation with stakeholders, that includes projects and activities related to better knowing and understanding the phenomena of IP and its infringements, the challenges and trends related to consumer awareness, data collection and best practices in enforcement strategies, etc. This will enable us to obtain during 2013 a concrete and precise idea of what the Observatory should be actually delivering over the years to come, in order to provide efficient solutions and actions to assist in raising the overall degree of awareness of the value of IP, among stakeholders and consumers in general.
Projects will relate, among others, to copyright and new business models trends and patterns.
