EJN Legal Specialist EUROJUST

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Contributing to the implementation of the EJN work programme;
  • Facilitating the organisation of EJN meetings;
  • Representing the EJN Secretariat when required;
  • Liaising with Eurojust administration;
  • Managing contents of the EJN website under the supervision of the EJN Secretariat Coordinator;
  • Providing assistance to EJN website users;
  • Drafting the EJN Secretariat’s documents under the supervision of the Secretary to the EJN and the EJN Secretariat Coordinator;
  • Performing legal research and;
  • Providing support with any issues relating to EJN contracts (drafting, interpretation, contract extensions or amendments), grant agreements and/or procurement procedures;
  • Providing assistance in the drafting of activity reports, memoranda, institutional documents on various issues related to the activities of the EJN Secretariat and on cooperation and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters;
  • On the request of the Secretary to the EJN and/or the EJN Secretariat Coordinator, acting as a contact for the Secretariat, building relationships with partners;
  • Liaising with the EJN bodies and representatives (contact points, national correspondents, Trio Presidencies and other organisations);
  • Verifying and validating the financial and budgetary aspects of programmes carried out within the EJN Secretariat; and
  • Carrying out any other duties required in the interests of the Secretariat.
Qualifications and experience required
a- Eligibility criteria
Candidates will be considered for the selection phase on the basis of the following criteria to be fulfilled by the closing date for applications:
  • A level of education that corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma;
  • Thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the Communities and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the Communities to the extent necessary for the performance of his/her duties.
Furthermore, in order to be eligible, a candidate must:
  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the Communities;
  • Enjoy his/her full rights as a citizen;
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed on him/her by the laws on military service;
  • Meet the character requirements for the duties involved;
  • Be physically fit to perform his/her duties.
