Communications Manager, Corporate Communications

We seek qualified candidates for the part-time position of Communications Manager to work 16-20 hours per week in Washington, DC

Position Summary:

Oversees development and coordination of strategic communications programs to promote company objectives. Consults with other areas and business units to produce material, tools and communication vehicles for the company. Managers all aspects of communications projects and associated budgets from start to finish. Recommends the media best suited for specific programs or services and interacts with other areas of the communications and creative teams as needed.

Position responsibilities:

  • Manages communications projects from start to finish to ensure objectives are met;
  • Assists in communications planning for development of communication tools regarding websites, web pages and other materials;
  • Manages vendor relationships for communication programs and projects;
  • Managers project across communications team as appropriate;
  • Coordinates with sector and country/regional leads as needed and appropriate;
  • Works on problems of complex scope that require evaluation and long-term management;
  • Exercises excellent judgment within broadly defined practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field. Master’s degree in these fields preferred;
  • Typically requires 5-8 years of marketing and public relations experience;
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff;
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English, fluent in host country language;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures within the communications and social media field;
  • Strong knowledge of various software and web applications;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills;
  • Ability to influence, motivate, negotiate and work well with others.

This is a temporary position from now through October.
