EU Policy Officer BMA - British Medical Association

The British Medical Association (BMA) is an independent trade union and voluntary professional association which represents doctors and medical students from all branches of medicine all over the UK. With a membership of over 144,000 worldwide, we promote the medical and allied sciences, seek to maintain the honour and interests of the medical profession and promote the achievement of high quality healthcare.

The BMA is looking to recruit an EU Policy Officer for its small Brussels-based office. The successful candidate:

- Will have a background in European affairs and knowledge of both EU and UK health policy

- Will assist the EU Policy Manager in promoting BMA views on key European legislation with the aim of influencing the EU decision making process

- Be the principal Brussels Office contact for e-Health issues

- Take the lead on exploring and exploiting growing opportunities for the BMA to promote its work to a wider European audience, such as promoting Board of Science work on public health

The postholder will be expected to work for 16 hours a week (two days) for a competitive salary.
