Finance and Administration Director RTI INTERNATIONAL

RTI INTERNATIONAL has received funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement the 5-year USAID/Uganda School Health and Reading Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Government of Uganda. The primary objectives of the program are to improve early grade reading outcomes for children in primary school and to develop sustainable health education systems that support national HIV/AIDS prevention efforts.

RTI is an independent, nonprofit institute dedicated to improving the human condition. With a staff of more than 4,000 people, RTI offers a full spectrum of innovative and multidisciplinary research, development and technical services worldwide. RTI is the lead implementer of the USAID/Uganda School Health and Reading Program and is seeking suitable candidates to fill the following positions:

Finance and Administration Director (FAD):

Will manage all project activities in finance, human resources, grants management IT, logistics, and general administration requirements for the project on a national level and ensure compliance with the terms of the contract. S/he is responsible for implementation, quality control, reporting, monitoring and staff management. This includes supervising, coordinating and training financial/administrative staff. The FAD is also responsible for ensuring appropriate systems and procedures (payroll, cash management, vendor payments, budgeting and other related to financial management) are in place to property disburse, account, budget and report project funds which are cost effective, timely, have proper internal controls and comply with the terms of the agreement.

Requirement:

  • MBA plus nine years of experience in business/accounting or bachelor's degree plus twelve years of relevant experience.
  • Additional professional training in accounting/business management preferred.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software (MS Excel) and accounting software. QuickBooks proficiency is desired.
  • A minimum of seven years experience as accountant or responsible for financial management of donor funded programs; experience with USAID projects preferred.
  • Experience in managing a large administrative team. Minimum of two years of supervisory experience. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced and complex environment.
