Global Learning and Business Development Manager

SALARY: £43,239 – £46,291pa pro rata
LOCATION: London EC1R 0BJ
CONTRACT: 9 month Fixed Term Contract

You are an experienced education professional with up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK government policy on education and global learning.

We are ActionAid a value driven, forward thinking organisation, focused on achieving long-term and sustainable change in the lives of the poorest people in our world.

The challenge is to meet a temporary need for greater strategic development of our schools global learning programme and additional support to secure external funding.As Global Learning and Business Development Manager will lead a team and take responsibility for planning our global learning programme in schools for 2013.

You will ensure it is aligned to our ‘Action for Change’ strategy and takes into account organisational objectives ,changes to the school’s curriculum and the market place for educational products.

Important will be the ability to identify innovations, improvements including cost savings and potential income generation opportunities.In addition you will work with fundraising teams to secure external funding and explore commercial partnerships with mainstream educational providers.

We will also look to you to initiate and develop mechanisms to help advance and expand our offer to schools.

You should have extensive experience in developing successful education resources and services for schools – ideally covering international development issues and a relevant Post Graduate Qualification in education.

Used to building partnerships in the UK education at senior level, you will have experience of providing technical input into successful fundraising proposals.

A commercial background in the education sector or direct experience of income-generating activity in the voluntary sector is highly desirable.
