Health Education Expert in India

Position Summary

Futures Group invites applications from qualified candidates for the position Health Education Expert for Institutional and Technical Support Project. The Health Education Expert is responsible to futures Group India and in turn to EC India for academic and technical leadership of the project, ensuring that it delivers its objectives to high standards and on time.

The Health Education Expert will be responsible for providing the technical and academic leadership in strengthening the distance education centre at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare. S/he supports the development of distance learning courses delivered on e-learning platforms along with the subject experts from NOIHFW and ITS team. The Health Education Expert will liaison with the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, the State Institutes of Health and Family Welfare to build their capacity for e learning. The Health Education Expert will be reporting to the ITS Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree (minimum Master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences with specialization in health/medical education; • Knowledge in gender mainstreaming; • Excellent command of English (written and oral) and communication skills.

General Professional Experience • At least 10 years’ experience, including development and implementation of health education curricula and professional accreditation schemes and their implementation in European institutional contexts, and university level teaching experience

Specific Professional Experience • Experience in planning and implementation of distance education courses in New Public Health and related fields addressing the European learning environment; • Experience in developing and reviewing content of educational courses from a gender perspective and in addressing issues related to discrimination, marginization and inequality in health and in engendering curricula and educational events, with particular reference to the European context; • Experience of Public Health Systems in South Asia and or in developing countries would be an asset
