Internship Energy department 2012/2013

Addressing the lack of access to clean, reliable and affordable energy services for billions of people is one of the world’s most critical development challenges. (FMO) supports the development of energy projects in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe through the provision of equity and/or debt financing. Key responsabilities and deliverables

FMO is offering talented students the opportunity to broaden their horizons. Based in The Hague, they will work on the (project) financing of energy projects, with focus on renewable energy, as well as on the financing of climate business (including among others energy conservation, carbon finance, sustainable forestry and biodiversity finance). Energy and climate business projects have a positive, sustainable economic impact in the countries in which they are developed. You will gain insight in the entire spectrum of climate business and renewable energy, including wind, solar, hydro and geothermal projects.

The intern will do a research on the market of climate business financing and provide an advice on where FMO can add value in the climate business field. In addition, the intern will help with all activities that are necessary to realize a successful project finance transaction. This may include building contact with the client, political and economic analyses of a country, company analyses, etc.

Essential Skills

Education

We are looking for students whose Master’s Degree in Economics or Business Administration with some financial focus is (almost) completed and who are available for a period of 6 months, 4-5 days per week.

Experience

Some experience with Climate Business is a pre.

Peronal Skills

The candidates must possess a strong analytical capacity and solid communications skills.
