Salary:
Unregistered/Interns: R185 958 per annum (Level 8)

Candidate Project Managers: R363 192 per annum in terms of the OSD
Project Managers: R421 497 per annum in terms of the OSD

Requirements:

Unregistered/Interns: • An appropriate, accredited National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a technical/built environment • Computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence (minimum Code B). Interns will be appointed on a contract basis.

Candidate Project Managers: • An appropriate, accredited National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a technical/built environment plus a certificate in Project Management recognised by the SACPCMP • Registered with the SACPCMP as a Candidate Construction Project Manager • Computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence (minimum Code B) • Candidate Project Managers will be appointed on a contract basis during their terms as Candidate Construction Project Managers in terms of the provisions of the OSD for Engineers and Related Occupations.

Project Managers: • An appropriate, accredited National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a technical/built environment plus a certificate in Project Management recognised by the South African Council of the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) • A minimum of three years’ relevant project management experience • Registered with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager • Computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence (minimum Code B).

Duties: Unregistered/Interns: • Render assistance to the Regional Project/Programme Management • Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing project management • Assist with overall administration of contracts
• Assist in management of private contractors and consultants • Ensure quality control on all projects • Audit interim fee accounts. Candidate Project Managers and Project Managers: • Manage and monitor numerous facets of the Regional Maintenance Programme, inclusive of contract administration • Compile, manage and monitor budget and expenditure • Establish building programmes with client departments • Ensure proper updating of information on projects in a database • Liaise with project leaders, professionals, contractors, client departments and consultants • Monitor progress on the site • Prepare and submit progress reports on projects • Resolve disputes • Apply the legislative and policy framework informing the area of operation.
Recommendations: • Knowledge of financial prescripts • Well developed written and verbal communication, liaison and planning ability • Accurate decision-making skills.
