Learning and Development Officer- Lautoka, FCDP

The Australian Government funded Fiji Community Development Program (FCDP) draws on AusAID’s long history and experience of support to Fiji’s civil society sector. The FCDP will enable AusAID and its donor partners to improve service delivery to disadvantaged communities and to strengthen Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) with improved approaches to development programming. The FCDP aims to mitigate against increased socio-economic hardship through support for the community development initiatives undertaken by civil society organisations in Fiji.

The FCDP is seeking applications for positions of Learning and Development Officer (LDO), Lautoka. The position will be for a long term project staff contract.

Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, the LDO will have responsibility for the planning, oversight, review and reporting of capacity building initiatives with primary responsibility for the engagement and management of sub-contracted capacity building activities.

As LDO you will provide localised oversight and management of civil society capacity building activities. This will include strategic, technical and reflective analysis and reporting on interventions used as well as evaluating achievements and improvements required. The role will support the implementation of the capacity building framework and will implement our approach to grants selection, fraud and audit, and capacity building.

To be successful in the position you will be tertiary qualified in development, management, organisational design or behaviour or related disciplines. You will have expert knowledge of modern management techniques and their application to organisations in developing environments. Demonstrated skills and experience in multiple requisite priority areas such as competency based training, institutional strengthening, human resource development, leadership and partnership development is essential. It is necessary that you have clear knowledge of development assistance programs, in particular involving partnership and capacity building of institutions and individuals as well as demonstrating an awareness of cross-cutting development themes such as gender equality, violence against women, people with disabilities, equity, child protection and good governance.

This role will be both challenging and rewarding and will allow you to work as part of a dynamic, highly skilled and dedicated team to support this significant and long term program.
