Marketing Segment Manager - Global Business Services

Part of the Global Business Services (GBS) Marketing & Communications team in A/NZ and reporting into the GBS A/NZ Group Marketing Executive, you will act as a marketing interface to the GBS business leaders of and assume accountability for business results through orchestrating IBM’s marketing and communications resources.

Acting as a strategic advisor to the business, you will be responsible for the execution of the marketing plan in order to drive awareness, interest & desire for GBS.

Market Segment Managers have a critical role in orchestrating the development of marketing and go-to-market strategies, and the execution of plans which will build to Future Quarter Pipeline objectives, and achieve segment performance.

Core Responsibilities Include:
• Identification of the most attractive and addressable market segments for GBS A/NZ through partnering with business leaders, the market research team and own desk research
• Establishment of marketing priorities based on business priorities and negotiate which areas / solutions require marketing campaign support
• Development of unique value propositions and market messaging for the above agreed priorities
• Drive the development of client references, digital asset creation (blog posts, videos, etc) and leadership pieces
• Assist in planning, developing content and driving attendance to marketing events based on business prioritise
• The development and management of the Marketing and Communications plan – which includes specific strategies and actions to create and capture value for your areas of responsibility

Skills/Experience Required
• Previous Marketing experience preferred
• Experience working in a professional services organisation, especially if previous marketing experience is limited.
• Tertiary qualification, ideally in marketing
• Strong English written and verbal skills, public speaking presenting
• Client facing experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint

• Personable, outgoing, easily talk/communicate with Partners and Associate Partners (Executives), agile on feet, fast thinking
• Strong writing ability
• Ability to manage/track projects / opportunities using Excel and input from Siebel and other IBM data sources
• Detail-oriented, organised with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Client service approach to working with people; must have an understanding of both business and client issues.
• Professional demeanour and the ability to build and maintain supportive relationships while injecting a sense of fun
• Ability to manage changing priorities and plans in response to market conditions (embraces change and ambiguity)
