Salary; £33,510 - £36,306 per annum

Waltham Forest Council is looking for a dynamic Public Affairs Officer to join its award winning Strategy and Communications Team. Lobbying government and other organisations you will use your creativity, contacts, and knowledge of the public policy making process to push for a better deal for local residents.

Having a good understanding of the issues that are affecting local government, you will brief senior councillors and officers on any trends and political developments which might affect the Council or the welfare of its residents. In addition you will develop and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and influencers to ensure that our public affairs campaigns reach the right people.

Prepared to challenge existing thinking in a positive manner, you will have strong analytical skills and be able to work collaboratively on policy development with politicians, officers, think tanks and campaigning organisations.
