Research Manager for European Project (EPHE) Protein Health Communications

Description:
Protein Health Communications develops communication strategies based on an in-depth global knowledge of the health challenges of tomorrow. Protein Health Communications assists businesses in defining and managing their ‘health attitude’, coordinates VIASANO (a Belgian Community-Based Program aimed at the prevention of childhood obesity) and is also associated partner in this European Project.
Your daily job will take place in the VIASANO coordination’s team and will be focused within a European project promoting health equity in 7 European countries from 2012 to 2015. VIASANO actively participates in this European Project.
Responsibilities will include :
  • Coordinating and managing a workpackage within a European project
  • Create synergies between the existing field action across Europe and EU Structural Funds mobilization for the development of action plans on the reduction of health inequalities.
  • A systematic survey to review previous examples of EU structural funds mobilization that were directly and indirectly related to the reduction of health disparities
  • Conducting interviews of Key Opinion Leaders
  • Development of a synthesis report for a European publication
  • Close liaison with representatives from 7 European countries.
  • Particular collaboration with VIASANO for the development of a portfolio of action tools and for the creation of motivation tools to empower data collection and local involvement
Profile :
  • Knowledge of the EU policy-making process is an advantage
  • Prior work experience in an EU institution (European Commission, Executive Office…), an NGO or a previous European project is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Excellent analytical and synthetical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent (native level or equivalent) written and spoken English; fluency in French is an advantage
  • Strong interest in public health
