Website Communication Consultancy (P-2), Geneva
Purpose
The UNICEF led clusters and AoRs require the development of a common web communication strategy and to enhance engagement with interagency web strategies and platforms. A staff position is being created and recruited to support this development. In the meantime, a consultant will be recruited to cover the immediate tasks associated with this position through August-September 2012.
The web communication officer will assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a web communication and design strategy to support all Cluster and AoR (Areas of Responsibility) workplans and implementation strategies as part of EMOPS. S/he will provide support to the development and maintenance of existing and agreed dedicated websites for the AoRs and clusters (primarily the Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) and the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) AoRs).

Qualifications and Competencies
• 2 years’ professional experience in information technologies, information management, and graphic design in humanitarian work.
• Bachelor or Masters in information systems, media, web-design or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area.
• Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress , Sharepoint and DRUPAL);
• Prior experience of building and maintaining a web platform and databases.
• Experience in a range of media for generating learning, including websites, list serves, and newsletters.
• Experience in managing communication through the web, including in the context of emergencies;
• Experience of design and format of documents for web-use, advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator an asset).
• Knowledge of the Cluster system and key members, and their mandates and interests; knowledge of Cluster programming will be an advantage
• Initiative and the capacity to manage a high pressure environment and fluctuations in workflow;
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic an asset.
