An exciting opportunity to become part of British Airways HR department, with responsibility for delivering people data to the business.
 
You will become part of a team that is transforming how data is stored and reported on from the people data warehouse and delivering HR analytics up to and including BA’s leadership team.

Job Purpose
  • To deliver the timely and accurate production of a range of regular, ad hoc and canned HR reports using a variety of tools, including MS Excel, Business Objects and SQL
  • To take the lead on a number of People Services, IT and/ or BI portfolio projects, which have a warehouse deliverable
  • To analyse and interpret complex data sets, draw conclusions and deliver key messages to the business at all levels
  • To provide expertise to the business in the use of data exploitation tools
  • To drive the continuous improvement of HR metrics and reporting
Job Dimensions/Measures
  • Project management of People Services projects up to £250k
  • Direct responsibility for data provided up to and including LT level

Principal Accountabilities

  • To take a proactive lead in the provision of a high quality HR reporting service for all directorates in British Airways Plc
  • Interpreting and analysing data and providing clear, accurate and timely reports to senior managers and line managers
  • To become an expert in people data within BA, understanding how the BA data fits together from both an internal and where relevant, external perspective
  • To apply a fine attention to detail on the delivery of reporting and strive for complete accuracy across all reports
  • To use creativity to enhance procedures to develop and help improve data quality
  • To improve the capability to provide business analysis and work proactively with the business to identify requirements and deliver solutions with IT and BI
  • To lead on the HR reporting aspects for projects, regarding the exploitation of and reporting from the people data warehouse
  • Contribute to the overall development of the People Services function
  • To hold regular data quality review meetings with Data Governance Analysts providing feedback on data standards and issues
  • Appreciation and adherence to data confidentiality and data protection laws
  • To contribute to the success of the HR reporting function

Essential Qualifications
  • Graduate level, or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Data analysis techniques with experience in identifying patterns in complex data sets and drawing conclusions
  • Business analysis techniques utilising skills in gathering requirements, understanding scope, stakeholder management
  • Report writing using standard report writing tools
Expertise
  • Ability to perform detailed data analysis, using SQL, Business Objects, Excel Power View and Excel Power Pivot with experience in drawing insight from data, such that conclusions and action can be taken
  • Formal business analysis techniques including scope definition and needs analysis to ensure requirements are understood correctly from the outset
  • Proven record in delivering reporting requirements to meet user needs
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders up to and including senior levels of the business
