Job description

  • The Lead Completion/Intervention Engineer will be based in St. John’s, Newfoundland in Canada. The Lead Completion/Intervention Engineer will coordinate and lead the completion/intervention engineers' work as well as ensure satisfactory quality of deliveries in the Well construction process/Intervention process. The main products are early phase project deliveries, and completion/interventions activities delivered in compliance with the program, schedule, and agreed cost. The Lead completion engineer for the well projects reports to the area Drilling and Well Manager.
  • The Lead completion engineer will assume the role of "discipline engineer" within the disciplines drilling technology/well technology in the Well construction process and the Well construction process/Intervention process, respectively.
  • This entails the following tasks, responsibilities and products.
  • Early phase feasibility, concept selection and detailed planning scope within the completion/intervention discipline
  • Ensure risk management and HSE are an integral part of all well construction activities
  • Preparation and delivery of the Well Construction/Interventions process requirements with the quality as prescribed in the management system, programme, agreements and contracts. The main management system processes governing this work will include D&W Field Development, Well Construction, Workover and Well Interventions
  • Time and cost estimates including uncertainties and risk
  • Advising, leading and quality-assurance of the engineers in the project
  • QC of drilling/well design and equipment specifications, ensuring that selected equipment has been tested thoroughly and qualified
  • Enabling experience transfer; ensuring that experiences are registered and that experiences are incorporated in future well design and operative planning and are shared within the D&W networks
  • Participation to partner and license work in agreement with Drilling and Well manager
  • Participation on D&W duty teams and emergency response teams
  • Support the local office emergency response initiatives by providing emergency response coverage on an on call basis, as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors of Engineering
  • 10 + years of relevant, operational experience
  • Possess a business oriented and flexible mindset and have the ability to draw conclusions with focus on critical success factors
  • Your ability to thrive and enjoy working in an international environment, within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams is essential, in addition to strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Prof. Eng. designation and eligible for registration as a professional engineer with PEG-NL
  • Ability to make technical decisions and handle multiple projects and deadlines
