UK AND IRELAND PAYROLL TEAM LEADER

Sandvik is a global industrial group with advanced products and world – leading positions in selected areas – tools for metal cutting, equipment and tools for the mining and construction industries, stainless materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials as well as process systems.
There are 14 Payrolls processed within the Payroll and Pensions section with a combined annual gross value in excess of £43 million, covering (not exhaustive to) R&D, Production, Sales, Distribution with a full in house payroll and limited pension scheme administration, time and attendance, cash office functions, foreign currency advances.
We are now looking for a Payroll and Pensions Leader to head up the Payroll and Pension department.
As Payroll and Pensions Leader you will manage, develop and evolve Sandvik’s UK payroll and pensions operations in line with company strategy whilst ensuring the accurate calculation and timely payment of monies to all employees, pensioners and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to be extremely diligent working in this complex environment where there are a number of multi-national payroll matrixes
Duties and Accountabilities will include:
  • Manage payroll service delivery to all UK Sandvik business areas in accordance with agreed and statutory deadlines, 14 in house and 1 outsourced.
  • Head up a team of four
  • Ensure ‘Real Time Information’ is routinely passed to HMRC by statutory deadlines.
  • Responsibility for the operation of the Kronos Time and Attendance System across 5 Sandvik sites.
  • Consolidate/check information received pertaining to the annual pay review to ensure data received is accurate/correct.
  • In year maintenance and completion of P11D documentation for HMRC and payment across of all associated monies by statutory deadlines.
  • Management of the on-going auto-enrolment process for all new/opted out employees
  • Manage the new entrants process for those wishing to be admitted to the Sandvik Disability Scheme
Knowledge & Experience
  • In depth and up to date knowledge of both payroll and pensions legislation
  • 5-10 years payroll and pensions management experience coupled with a professional payroll/pensions qualification (CIPP or equivalent)
