The SMS BIO Office of the Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) IT organization, offers a full range of qualified services to various process owners and their teams. We describe the IT and information requirements of the business operations and its processes, in order to purchase and implement the right IT solutions, maintain and improve legacy systems, and coordinate current investments; thus optimizing the business as a whole.
We are now looking for a Manager of IT Demand Area Production to lead our operations by defining, communicating, anchoring, executing and following up on both tactical and strategic IT plans. The location for this position is Sandviken.
Key performance areas
As IT Demand Area Manager you have the strategic role of facilitating the process in defining the demands that the business and its supporting processes have on IT and information management solutions. You are responsible for assuring that IT solutions and connected services are planned for, procured and delivered in the best way. Furthermore, you make sure that the solutions delivered within your area of responsibility are managed throughout the whole life cycle.
Your responsibilities also include:
- Managing budget and costs
- Human resource management for employees
- Owning and, in some cases, leading/participating in projects, programs, and other activities
- Ensuring and following up on SMS’s benefits from its IT investments
- Securing System Ownership for SMS-common IT solutions
- Managing deliveries and assignments from our IT suppliers, through defining requirements, follow-up of orders and implementing quality assurance
- Following the IT markets’ development and, on occasion, taking part in benchmarking within and outside Sandvik
- Establishing and maintaining good relations with international stakeholders
The position involves traveling up to 25% of the time to other units within SMS.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant area, such as Logistics, IT, Business and/or Management. You have at least five years’ of experience from qualified IT management; alternatively from a line manager position or managing larger projects. Experience from acting as a professional buyer of IT services and follow-up on expected deliveries is advantageous. The IT Production demand area is familiar to you, as is advancing business development and strategic matters. You have solid knowledge in terms of business processes, organization and systems support, along with a profound understanding of how modern IT can support these processes. Finally, excellent communicative skills and fluency in English, both written and verbal, are prerequisite, while skills in Swedish are advantageous.
