COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
INTERNATIONAL ROAD ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME
The International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), a not-for-profit organisation with global reach specialising in road safety and committed to working for a world of risk-free roads, wants to make a new appointment and invites applications from candidates with extensive experience in communications, preferably with an international scope:
- Holding a degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline
- Oral and written fluency in English is essential; other languages are an asset
- Demonstrating interest in public health and transport issues in general
- Experience of specific campaigns is an advantage
- Ability to work with data visualisation tools and infographics is an asset
- Able to work independently and as a member of a small team
- Available to travel within Europe and outside it
- Experience of planning events is essential
- Experience of writing newsletters is essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders is essential.
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of a communications strategy involving the widest range of stakeholders (political, press and civil society)
- Coordinate with partner organisations, aligning with their strategies and actions
- Edit a regular newsletter, take responsibility for social and online media strategy and content, and manage iRAP’s website (see www.irap.net)
- Manage iRAP’s events
- Report to the Regional Director EMEA
- Be based mainly in iRAP’s head office in the UK (located near Basingstoke) but probably with at least one day a week being spent in London.
