Trade Association Account , Manager Afore Consulting

Afore Consulting has a vacancy for a trade association account manager.

We are seeking an individual with excellent management, organisation and communication skills. You will have a sound knowledge of the workings of the EU institutions and policy process. This is a role with a trade association going from strength to strength, involving a dynamic client base with diverse business models. You should have previous project management or trade association experience and some knowledge of financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day organization of the association;
• Regular communication with the Board;
• Preparing and circulating a regular update on issues of relevance;
• Organization of meetings and setting up contact programmes;
• Document preparation and briefings for meetings;
• Writing up minutes after meetings and distributing them to the membership;
• Maintaining good working relationships with decision-makers in relevant policy areas;
• Devising and implementing public affairs strategies in conjunction with membership;
• Being involved in strategic planning for the association;
• Participating in recruiting new members.

Requirements

• Previous experience in European public affairs, the EU institutions and/or financial services. For this role we would expect 3 years’ experience;
• Excellent advocacy skills both written and oral;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• A proven track record in working with the EU institutional process;
• A keen interest in politics and financial services;
• Willingness to expand knowledge of the subject areas and broaden networks;
• A “can do” attitude.
