Orgalime, the European Engineering Industries Association, located in Brussels, speaks for 43 trade federations in the mechanical, electrical, electronic, metalworking & metal articles industries of 23 European countries. Orgalime's member federations directly or indirectly represent some 130,000 companies of an industry employing some 10.3 million people. The engineering industry is the largest industrial branch in the EU, with a turnover of more than €1,825 billion in 2014. We act as our industry’s interface with policy makers in the European institutions and as an information resource on policy and regulatory issues.

To reinforce our dynamic team, we are currently looking for two advisers, one to join our Environmental Department working on energy and environmental issues and one to join our Technical and Internal Market Department.

Job Description

The ideal candidates will have a university degree and at least 3 to 5 years of work experience, including in an association, as well as a sound understanding of the functioning and regulatory processes of EU institutions. Some experience or a background in engineering will be a plus.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in the area of Environmental legislation, ideally in the area of Ecodesign and Product Policy, and a candidate for Internal Market issues, who ideally is familiar with the New Approach Directives and standardisation.

He or she will possess strong interpersonal skills and be capable of working with a high degree of autonomy.

As language skills we require excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and one of the national languages of Belgium. Other languages would be a plus.
