The ACCO Accountancy Office is an independent business area within Europol reportable directly to Europol’s Management Board. The main purpose of this post is to carry out the tasks pertaining to the efficient and correct financial handling of Europol’s fixed assets in order to reflect a true and fair position, in this respect, in Europol’s annual financial statements in accordance with Europol’s financial and accounting rules.
The successful applicant will have to carry out the following main duties:
  • Record and valuate new assets, assure their correct linking in the payment process and administer the approval process on their disposal;
  • Maintain records of assets in the financial systems and assist in the reconciliation of financial data as it refers to the management of assets;
  • Bookkeeping and financial reporting in relation to fixed assets;
  • Preparation of the provisional and final accounts and year-end closure on “Asset Accounts”;
  • Assisting with the validation of the inventory and accounting systems;
  • Liaise with other units within Europol regarding the registration and tracking of assets;
  • Liaise with the EC representatives on issues related to the accounting systems Draft and update policies, manuals and processes related to asset administration;
  • Act as a direct point of contact within the Accountancy Office for auditors;
  • Act as the Europol ABAC Asset Administrator - Registering users, training on internal implementation and granting access rights to the system;
  • Work on the projects and programmes related to the implementation of technologies around asset management as a financial expert;
  • Execute any other tasks corresponding to the profile and grade, as deemed necessary in the interest of the service.

Your profile:

We are looking for specialists from all EU Member States, who have:
  • Experience with generally-accepted accountancy principles and practices gained as an accountant, economist or auditor;
  • Experience with the international accountancy standards (IAS).
Monthly salary: approx. 4,172.96 EUR (net without allowance) and approx. 5,967.87 EUR (net with allowances – if applicable1).
