Competition Economists

The Portuguese Competition Authority (Autoridade da Concorrência - AdC) is currently seeking four highly qualified economists to join our team as competition experts. 
The AdC enforces and promotes compliance with competition rules across the Portuguese economy, raises awareness of the benefits of competition among key stakeholders and cooperates internationally with other competition authorities and international organisations.
Its mission includes detecting, investigating and sanctioning competition infringements, namely anti-competitive agreements and abuses of dominance. The AdC also carries out merger control and promotes a pro-competitive regulatory environment in Portugal through market studies and other advocacy initiatives.
Successful candidates will develop economic analyses on competition issues, namely in shaping potential theories of harm within antitrust and merger investigations, as well as other market inquiries.
Candidates must demonstrate professional experience in the field of competition, regulation or industrial economics. Educated to a Master’s degree or PhD level in economics or related areas, preferably in the area of competition, regulation, industrial economics or microeconomics, and with a Bachelor’s Degree in economics or related fields.
