Junior Sustainability Manager

Ceficthe European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.
Cefic is located in Brussels (Auderghem) and employs more than 150 people.
For its Sustainability Programme, Cefic is looking for a (m/f)
Junior Sustainability Manager
Responsibilities:
The Junior Manager will be asked to follow a range of tasks. These primarily include requests to:
  • Update, research and draft policy documents and position papers in the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy arena
  • Support monitoring and mapping major developments and decision making processes in and around the EU institutions
  • Contribute to the drafting, tracking and execution of Cefic advocacy plans
  • Attend external events and prepare briefing notes and minutes in order to summarise for the Cefic members  
  • Convincingly present Cefic positions during official internal meetings
  • Support the preparation of internal and external communications, e.g. the Cefic Sustainable Development report 2017
Requirements:
  • Master degree in political sciences, law, sciences or engineering
  • Experience in international advocacy and knowledge of European politics and institutions are an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely and to deliver well-organised and convincing presentations
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written), other European languages are an additional asset
  • Strong project management skills in order to deliver in a timely, effective and efficient way
