Grants Manager for Asia and the Middle East

The Grants Manager for Asia and the Middle East will work under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Director to provide management and administrative support in (1) administration of restricted awards including Government and Foundation-funded grants; (2) coordinating with the New Business Development unit in responding to grant solicitations; and (3) support Country Teams in developing capacity around grant management. S/he will also work with other departments to contribute to LWR's advocacy, fundraising, communications, and constituent engagement efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Grants Management

• Manage relationships between LWR and external donors; providing proactive, timely information on grant progress, performance and remedial actions.

• Review, revise, generate and submit reports and other deliverables to external donors.

• Process fund transfers, implementing partner cooperation agreements, program and budget modifications and amendments for award agreements in coordination with regional staff and International F&A staff.

• Collaborate with M&E Manager, external consultants and/or members of the Regional Team to develop and manage monitoring and evaluation systems, tools and consultancies for grant funded projects.

• Ensure compliance with donor rules & regulations.

• Monitor and provide financial and programmatic oversight in collaboration with International F&A staff and Regional Team; track project spending; track performance against project objectives; and manage remedial actions.

• Maintain grant filing systems and calendars for deliverables.

2. New Business Development

• Coordinate with Country Offices, Regional Team and NBD on new initiatives, proposals, and project design

• Participate in NBD planning meetings and update Regional planning tools

• Lead proposal development process for Regional Team as requested

3. Staff Development and Capacity

• Identify and lead training initiatives for the Regional and Country Teams related to restricted grants management

4. Perform other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong commitment to LWR's core values, and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.

2. At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring and A Masters degree in a field relevant to international development is required, or a Bachelors degree with equivalent experience.

3. Minimum 5-7 years international development work experience, including developing proposals and implementing restricted awards in a developing country context.

4. Three or more years experience of negotiating and backstopping USAID grants for an international relief & development organization; demonstrated experience with US Government regulations and grant procedures strongly preferred.

5. Ability to produce government and foundation grant proposals and reports.

6. Experience designing and delivering trainings in a multi national context.

7. Strong time management skills; ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

8. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and analytical skills.

9. Experience with working in a multi national team structure

10. Ability to travel up to 15 percent of her/his time, including adverse conditions and/or disaster zones
