We are seeking to appoint two Senior Lecturer/Lecturers with specific expertise in lifespan development. Preferred candidates will have an interest in teaching child development from a critical perspective, as well as a professional qualification and significant experience in teaching and/or social work or counselling. Expertise in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties/Inclusive Education is also welcome.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching in the first year Human Development papers offered at undergraduate level for the Human Development, Initial Teacher Education and Social Work Programmes offered at the Tauranga Campus, and will teach elsewhere in the Department’s programmes depending on their qualifications and interests. The appointee is expected to provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of the undergraduate curriculum in Human Development, and will be offered opportunities to contribute to the further development of postgraduate and research programmes in Human Development. Some travel between the Hamilton and Tauranga Campuses could be required. The appointee will be expected to contribute to supervision of postgraduate student research.

A Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.

Current salary range for Senior Lecturers is NZ$80,851 to NZ$108,445, and for Lecturers is NZ$64,594 to NZ$78,864. The level of appointment will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
