Overall purpose of the job
Design, develop and monitor implementation of the
Bank’s information security standards.


Relevant professional qualifications such as
CISSP, CISM, CISA

Duties and responsibilities
· Assist in developing the Banks ICT security
policy manual and strategy and ensure its
implementation;
· Design and develop comprehensive information
security standards in line with the Bank’s IT
policies, procedures and strategic objectives;
· Assist in the formulation and implementation of
disaster recovery and prevention plans and
procedures;
· Oversees the physical security and safety of IT
systems and equipment including server rooms
and back up storage facilities;
· Ensure security and integrity of network, systems
and databases. Implements and maintains strict
password procedures to guarantee privacy and
security of data;
· Identify business security issues, analysis, design
and implementation of security technology based
on logical design requirement;
· Liaises with the systems support administrator
(networks) to manage and maintain anti virus
software;
· Audit impact of security technology and processes
to ensure that implemented policy and technology
meets the Bank’s information technology
requirements;
· Investigate information security threats and
breaches of the Bank’s IT systems and propose
solutions and improvements;
· Provide technical advice to management and staff
on computer and data security issues and create
awareness on security issues through training
programmes; and
· Prepare monthly reports on the Bank’s IT security
and assurance and performance against set targets.
Minimum academic and professional
qualifications required
· At least a Bachelors degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology or related area, with
business aspect;
· Ensures activities are carried out according to the
mandate of the Audit Plan approved by the Audit
Committee,
· Prepares working papers and reports and liaises
with senior staff to address queries raised during
head office and branch audits;
· Provides on going guidance on various technical
issues such as industry compliance requirements
and best practice;
· Investigates frauds arising from inside or outside
the Bank and provides recommendations on
appropriate preventive measures;
· Evaluates the standards of management and
supervisory control in the head office and branches
to ensure compliance.

Minimum academic and professional
qualifications required
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology; and
· Professional qualifications such as CISA or CIA;
· CPA or ACCA would be an added advantage

Minimum years of experience
At least 5 years experience in a large organisation in
a similar or related position

Skills and competencies required
· Up-to-date knowledge of and experience in
information systems governance;
· Technical knowledge in computer security
technologies and their implementation;
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
· Ability to work autonomously; and
· Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
