PROJECT MANAGER STRATEGIC RISK FORESIGHT

The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization that engages leaders from business, politics, academia and civil society in joint efforts to improve the state of the world. Founded in 1971, it is a not-for-profit foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland; it is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.

The World Economic Forum today has over 400 employees from more than 55 nations, with offices in Geneva, New York, Beijing and Tokyo.

Over two-thirds of the Forum’s employees have a Master’s degree or higher. In cooperation with leading universities worldwide, the Forum has its own academic graduate and PhD programmes.

The World Economic Forum is active in four main areas that complement and support one another:

Building and maintaining global communities of decision-makers in specific fields – the Forum currently manages over 30 such communities of business, political, academic and civil society leaders.

Promoting dialogue within and between these communities through its global Annual Meetings in Switzerland (Davos), China and the United Arab Emirates, as well as regional meetings, industry-specific meetings and workshops on specific issues.

Providing strategic insights to support its communities to respond better and in more proactive, integrated ways to global challenges.

Integrating all communities in joint initiatives, task forces and research projects to solve specific problems – the Forum and its communities currently undertake over 50 such initiatives, mainly in the form of public-private partnerships. In doing so, the Forum works together closely with different international organizations and governments.

We are now searching for a:

PROJECT MANAGER
STRATEGIC RISK FORESIGHT

You will join the Strategic Risk Foresight Team responsible for the Forum’s scenario planning and global risks practice now within the newly created Risk Response Network – a unique platform for global decision-makers to better understand, manage and respond to complex and interdependent risks.

You will be responsible for managing large multistakeholder projects and will generate strategic dialogue and insights across industries and regions. You will be engaged in scenario planning projects as well as the Forum’s annual Global Risks report.

Within the Forum’s Risk Response Network www.weforum.org/globalrisks2011, you will work as part of a highly motivated and experienced team on various Risk Initiatives and will have the opportunity of collaborating across the organization on challenging projects shaping the global agenda.

You possess a broad background with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics or business administration. You have five or more years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the private sector with strategic consulting experience as a plus. We are looking for a proven track record in the management of complex projects and process, with facilitation skills and previous exposure to scenario planning and global risks analysis practice as a plus. We expect you to exhibit demonstrated leadership capabilities as well as strong presentation and collaboration skills with a commitment to the collective output of a team.

As such, you will be fully integrated in the World Economic Forum and benefit from an intensive work and learning experience intended to develop and train future leaders of global enterprises and international organizations.
