South East Regional Procurement and Supply Management expert

The Swiss Centre for International Health of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute conducts consultancy, project management, training and applied research work in international health. We are seeking for a regional South East Asia position based in Cambodia or in Lao PDR or in Myanmar.

South East Asia Regional Procurement and Supply Management expert with relevant work experience in low and middle-income countries

Within on-going and new assignments from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis, your tasks will include:

1. Contribute to undertake initial and/or repeat assessments of Principal Recipients in Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao PDR, particularly in the field of Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) of health and non health products

2. Contribute to critically review PSM plans prepared by the Principal Recipients (PRs) in Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao PDR

3. Contribute to quarterly assess Principal Recipients procurement of health and non health products in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar if needed

4. Contribute to review the information entered in the Price and Quality Reporting system

5. Contribute to review procurements activities‘ alignment with PSM plan, budget and performance framework

6. Conduct site visits for verifying the validity of information provided by Principal Recipients

To best fit into our active, interdisciplinary team we expect the following qualifications:

· Training and formal qualification in pharmacy or a similar field (Master degree level). A postgraduate training in public health is an asset.

· Minimum of three years working experience in the procurement and supply management of pharmaceuticals and health products

· Minimum of two years working experience in the health sector in low- and middle income countries

· Knowledge of Global Fund procedures and requirements is an asset

· Excellent command of English and possibly and preferably one or more of the national languages of the three target countries

· Good communication skills, strong spirit of team work and initiative, and ability to work with professionals in multi-cultural context

An initial contract of two years will be offered. The position will report to Project Leader based in Basel. An extension is desirable, depending on a performance evaluation.
