DEPUTY DIRECTOR Financial Services Re-advertisement

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) assist the Director in planning, organizing, co-ordinating and controlling the University’s accounting and financial management functions to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and maintenance of budget, accounts and financial reports; (ii) assist in developing financial policies; (iii) oversee investment programmes; (iv) ensure adherence to established accounting systems, procedures and standards; (v) implement appropriate technologies for solid financial management.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management or equivalent; (ii) full membership of an internationally recognised body of Professional Accountants such as ACCA, CIMA, CA; (iii) at least five years post qualification relevant working experience in either a similar institution or comparable and reputable private sector organisation as Chief Accountant/Audit Manager/Financial Controller or equivalent position; (iv) thorough knowledge of Financial Management and proven ability to design and implement Financial Management and fiscal control systems in a computerised environment and develop financial policies and procedures; (v) excellent management and leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking and problem solving skills and should be pro-active and innovative.
