Fundraising Events Manager

£28,500 - £35,500 depending on experience

Based in Milton Keynes

Have you got the passion and technical know-how

to encourage and help our supporters in their fundraising activities?

Our mission is to inspire the UK to take action that transforms the lives of the world’s poorest children. Our field based staff are changing children’s lives every day and your challenge will be to enable our supporters to share this privilege, by encouraging them to fundraise for us.

Once you get the word out that they can fundraise for us, World Vision supporters throughout the UK will look to you for ideas and support. Your targets will relate to the number of supporters engaged in fundraising and the income they generate.

An exciting part of this role will be to develop a flagship fundraising event that gives supporters an unparalleled experience of walking with the poor and an opportunity to fundraise for World Vision. This will need to be an event that differentiates us from others and inspires people to get involved. You’ll know you’ve been successful when people are queuing up to take part in it!

You’ll need significant experience in developing effective fundraising propositions from concept to delivery and be able to differentiate between what works and what doesn’t. You’ll have a proven track record in achieving both financial and public awareness success using both online and offline channels. Passion and creativity combined with excellent interpersonal skills will set you up to succeed in this role.

The successful applicant is likely to:

  • Have excellent knowledge of the legal and practical implications of managing and promoting fundraising events
  • Have a proven ability to create and deliver a fundraising strategy
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the UK's fundraising market
  • Enjoy bringing ideas to reality
  • Bring evidence of achieving success through inspiring customers or supporters to take tangible action
  • Have a passion for applying your professional skills to help children living in poverty.

All applicants must be willing to work within a Christian framework and be sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations. If you’re passionate about our work as a Christian relief, development and advocacy charity, focused on transforming the lives of the world’s poorest children, their families and communities, we’d love to hear from you!
