Description:
The US Department of State's Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs supports ABA ROLI's implementation of a regional anti-corruption program in Asia, with a focus on APEC. With support from ABA ROLI's Washington office, the program is implemented by an anti-corruption expert based in the field. The expert provides and coordinates the provision of technical assistance to organizations (both governmental and non-governmental) working to combat corruption in the public and private sectors in countries in the Asia Pacific region. Specific tasks will include:

-Collaborating with national anti-corruption entities.

-Coordinating with the ADB/OECD Steering Committee to identify areas of common interest where joint projects can be developed.

-Providing assistance to the Illicit Organization Prosecution Task Force as it deals with the investigation, prosecution, and disruption of illicit organizations, particularly counterfeit medicines.

-Planning and supporting ACT's meeting during the APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM 3) in September 2011.

-Assisting ACT in organizing a Trans-Pacific Symposium on Dismantling Transnational Illicit Networks in Phuket, Thailand in October 2011.

-Organizing, in conjunction with partners, a Workshop on Effectively Combating Corruption and Illicit Trade that will emphasize tracking cross-border financial flows, international asset recovery, and anti-money laundering techniques.

-Representing the ABA and the US Department of State at anti-corruption related programs, conferences and workshops.

Qualification:
Required Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible professional experience working on anti-corruption issues in the private or public sector. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing anti-corruption, public integrity and/or transparency/accountability programs in developing countries and familiarity with international conventions, initiatives and instruments relating to corruption, including UNCAC and ACT.

Education and Bar Membership: J.D. or L.L.M. and US bar membership

Skills: Exceptional representational and diplomacy skills. Demonstrated analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and cross-cultural communications.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. ABA provides a comprehensive benefits package.
