Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to teach and research in the areas of social studies curriculum and pedagogy, and in undergraduate and graduate teacher education programmes, both face to face and online, and have the ability to forge links with the broader education community. Applicants should have an in-depth knowledge of social studies curriculum in a school context, and the ability to demonstrate both theoretical and pedagogical approaches to teaching. Supervision of students on practicum visits is also required.
A PhD or EdD is essential at Senior Lecturer level. A Masters degree is the minimum requirement at Lecturer level; a PhD is strongly preferred. Enrolment in a doctorate will be a condition of appointment to the Lecturer position.
Salary range for Lecturers is NZ$65,886 to NZ$80,441 per year and for Senior Lecturers is NZ$82,468 to NZ$110,614 per year.
