Head of Disaster Risk Management Unit

the Plan: for you to work with and for children in the world’s poorest countries to help them build a better future. A future you would want for all children, your family and friends.

For over 70 years we’ve been taking action and standing up for every child’s right to fulfil their potential. We do what’s needed, where it’s needed most. We do what you would do.

Head of Disaster Risk Management Unit (£43,830 - £48,700)

We want you to work with us to keep children and accountability at the centre of our work. Leading Plan UK’s disaster risk management, you will manage relationships with our field delivery arms in country, oversee and direct programme delivery and formulate humanitarian strategy. You’ll ensure that the team delivers projects on time, to budget and to the highest possible standards.

Last year, Plan carried out disaster response and recovery work in 22 countries. We want this unit to become a recognised centre of excellence with the Plan network, and a reputable, effective humanitarian response partner within the UK sector.

As well as significant field experience in humanitarian response, you’ll need to have experience of working at a senior level in an organisation with DEC membership and of representing your organisation at a high level. You’ll have wider development knowledge as well as a specialisation. This might be education, protection or resilience – adding value to our strategy for children and adolescents in emergencies. You also understand the donor funding environment from experience, giving you the ability to guide the development of partnerships and grants.

Join us and help children, families and entire communities to move themselves from a life of poverty to a future with opportunity. To find out more about this role and/or apply please go to: http://www.plan-uk.org/jobs-and-volunteers/
