WWF International is seeking to recruit a

Regional Forest Coordinator

The Coordinator is responsible for leading the elaboration, implementation and supervision of WWF forest policy in the Congo Basin at the regional level including analysis of existing forest and land use planning policies in the sub-region and advocating for policy changes as appropriate. The Coordinator also plays a key role in supporting the development of project proposals, Provides technical advice and backstopping, strengthening institutional capacity in the fields of forest conservation, sustainable forest management, legality, and land use planning, as well as coordinating the regional forest activities to ensure integration, cooperation and synergy with the regional forest strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring a Master degree or equivalent in forestry, fluency in English and French and a minimum of 10 years professional experience in Africa in the area of forest ecosystems conservation or sustainable management of forest resources. He/She would have demonstrated successful fund-raising, particularly with Government Aid Agencies. He/Se would also have a strong knowledge of forestry sector in Central Africa, including having a personal network within key national and sub-regional institutions. He/She would finally have proven expertise in programme development and project management.

We are looking for someone with strong technical, communication and organizational skills. The candidate would be a team player with excellent analytical, facilitation and communication skills, and a strong proven ability tocommunicate verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical audiences as well as collaborate with people of different backgrounds.

Location: The position is based at WWF Central Africa Regional Programme (CARPO), in Yaounde, Cameroon. WWF is opening this opportunity for you to work in central Africa and to take an active part in exciting conservation initiatives that are helping to shape the region’s future.
