The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking an individual for the position of Chauffeur/Driver in the General Services Office (GSO).

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications Required:

Items 1-7 are ALL REQUIRED


1.
Successful completion of formal education to minimum of Standard 8 (Grade 10).
2. At least two years experience as a professional chauffeur or driver.
3. English level IV (fluency) - reading/writing/speaking
4. Thorough knowledge and familiarity of South African road and driving conditions and restrictions.
5. Must be familiar with city layout of Pretoria and Johannesburg (Gauteng area) and their suburbs, and have sound knowledge of S.A Government and
other important buildings.
6. Must know how to read maps and plot routes to unknown location.
7. Must be skilled driver with a valid Code 10 (EC1) driver’s license, plus PDP.

Job Specification

Basic Function of Position:

The incumbent operates a motor vehicle to transport passengers and Mission employees, visitors and dignitaries to assigned locations, picks-up and delivers goods, mail and other items. The incumbent works different shifts on a rotating basis to provide adequate availability of drivers to meet the mission’s needs.
