CHIEF LAND INFORMATION ANALYST (5 POSTS)
Salary: R221 058 per annum (Level 9) (Ref. S8/3/2012/10)
Requirements: • Post-Matric qualification in Town and Regional Planning/Geography/Law/Property Management/Land Surveying • Extensive experience in land-related research work, land use investigations/surveys and land administration • Research and good communication skills (verbal and written) • Computer literacy • Valid driver’s licence.
Duties: • Obtain/gather and maintain relevant land information on State and other public land in order to identify superfluous and/or under-utilised land that can be used for land reform purposes • Provide clients with appropriate and accurate information on the geographical and jurisdictional status of land • Provide technical assistance on State land administration and State land management issues • Assist with the verification of data, field visits and execute advisory comments on State land-related tasks • Provide training and capacity building support with regard to State land administration and State land management • Undertake land use surveys, land research and land audit • Prepare memoranda and compile reports.
Note: The ideal person should have a keen interest in and sound knowledge of State land matters, be interested in geography and must also be attuned to detail and correctness. Such person must also be interested in research work and cartography/mapping. He/she must be able to supply clients with information reports and maps of professional standard, be able and willing to travel and conduct fieldwork (eg land use surveys and land audits).
The suitable candidates will be selected with the intention of promoting representivity and achieving affirmative action targets, as contemplated in the relevant component’s Employment Equity Plan.
