The town of Pannawonica is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The town is close to the coast (Karratha, Dampier, and Onslow) and a comfortable driving distance to Exmouth, Ningaloo Reef, Coral Bay and various National Parks. Robe Valley Operations has recently expanded its operations with the commissioning of the new Mesa A Iron Ore mine in April 2010. Operations continue at Mesa J and adjacent remnant deposits in conjunction with the new deposits at Mesa A.
You will lead the Maintenance Planning team to provide planning, and scheduling services to improve the reliability and performance of equipment in line with Asset Management Strategies.
Reporting to the Maintenance and Fixed Plant Manager, your key accountabilities are below:
  • Actively promote safety awareness, safe work practices and compliance with the safety management plan
  • Ensure the development of maintenance plans to achieve equipment whole-of-life plans and increase reliability of equipment
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Product Services Advisors and liaise closely regarding equipment performance and warranty items
  • Liaise closely with mining operations to ensure an interface between maintenance plans, mine plans and production targets
  • Develop and implement maintenance planning and budgeting services
  • Provide technical support, guidance and supervision to all staff and contractors in the maintenance planning team
  • Define performance expectations for employees and contractors and coach performance against these standards, including conducting formal performance appraisals, implementing corrective and improvement initiatives in accordance with Pilbara Iron policy
As the successful candidate for this role, you will have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, a demonstrated commitment to safety and proven quality leadership within the maintenance field. You will have strong analytical skills and a good understanding of preventive maintenance systems. Previous experience within a mining environment and familiarity with SAP will further strengthen your application.
