Reporting to the Principal 5 Year and Life of Mine Planning, the primary purpose of this role is to provide 5yr and LoM planning support both within the Resource Development group and to the wider business. The Senior Engineer will be accountable for the entire long term mine planning aspects for one of our suite of operations and will be responsible for the coordination of other work streams that provide input into the mine plan. You will also ensure that site based direction is consistent with the wider business context to which you will be exposed.
The primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
· Long Term Mine Planning using contemporary mine planning software
· Project planning and leadership
· Identifying & managing risk.
· Technical collaboration - looking across technical disciplines to identify/support priorities for the Resource Development delivery plan for your allocated area of responsibility.
· Identifying or participating in evaluating new ideas, technologies or other options applicable to your area of responsibility.
· Mentoring of Graduate and Junior Engineers.
It is an essential requirement of this role that the successful applicant will have a degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering. Sound experience within a similar role is required and those with site-based experience, post-graduate qualifications in Mining Engineering and front-line management certifications will be highly regarded.
