Ericsson Supply Site MIC is part of the Business Unit Networks Supply organization. Our responsibilities are to industrialize and supply filter products for Radio networks, as well as to give manufacturing support to research and design projects, supplying high technology prototypes. The most important factors in our success are our global co-operation and networking. Ericsson Supply Site MIC has about 500 employees and is situated in Kista, Sweden.
Master thesis Description
The main purpose with the thesis work is to develop our "On the floor logistics". With the help of the LEAN concept analyze, develop and implement improvements giving an optimal material handling process for our NPI and prototype operations with a very high mix of different products and product variants.
This means, among other tings, to:
  • Do a value stream mapping of the component and product flow from incoming goods to shipping of finished products.
  • Analyze and propose how different sub-processes can be optimized, using the LEAN tool box.
  • Implement relevant improvements in our operations - potentially affecting organization, processes etc
The master thesis work extends over a period of approximately 20 weeks and is to be carried out at our facilities in Kista, Stockholm.

Qualifications

The applicants shall preferably be two in pairs. The thesis workers shall have adequate education and shall be self motivated and able to work individually with limited supervision during the assignment period. It is essential to be good in project working and co-operation as well as being communicative open-minded.
