Washington, DC Cost and Pricing Associate

We seek qualified candidates for the position of Cost & Pricing Associate in Washington, DC.
Position Description:
  • Provide financial and administrative support for Cost & pricing division
  • Assist the cost and pricing team with the preparation of proposal budgets and supporting documentation in support of the cost proposal process.
  • Maintain Dept. tools for budget development, workload tracking, Share Point portal.
  • Assist in development and finalization of costs proposals.
  • Provide administrative support for a DC and NC cost & pricing teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate correspondence and dissemination of information as appropriate to C&P staff and externally.
  • Provide support for cost proposal submission, staff calendars, Share Point portal, and meeting scheduling, etc.
  • Utilize electronic spreadsheets to organize and analyze department data, budgetary, expenditure, contract and other financial and quantitative data.
  • Participate in proposal teams to support C&P lead as appropriate.
  • Follow up with international/domestic program, technical and financial staff to obtain and/or verify financial and budget information to ensure quality of complex proposal models.
  • Handle financial and quantitative information with accuracy and precision; resourceful in gathering and verifying financial data.
  • General knowledge in pricing structure for grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts.
  • Proficiency in electronic spreadsheets, including EXCEL; ability to use word processing application software, knowledge of office practices and procedures, and a willingness to increase knowledge and update skills as required
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and fiscal control theory and practices.
  • Considerable skills in oral and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of staff, representatives of donors and collaborating agencies, individuals from diverse cultures, and the public.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in managing confidential matters, materials and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and effectively process work assignments, while providing attention to detail under in a stressful high-volume environment.
  • Routine coordination with FHI employees and consultants.
  • Work with people to coordinate work assignments with other individuals, and to resolve problem situations with tact.
  • Limited interaction with country offices and regional staff members.
Minimum Requirements:
MA/MS/MBA and 1 - 3 years relevant experience in an administrative/executive secretarial capacity; or BS/BA in Business Administration, or related field, and 3 - 5 years relevant experience in an administrative/executive secretarial capacity; or AA and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; or High School/GED and 7 - 9 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
