You are invited to apply for the post of Deputy Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach based at the University Offices, Wellington Square.

Following a review of the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Office (UAO), the University has identified a need for additional resource to be focused on the management of the office as a whole, and in particular the annual admissions round; and to focus on the strategic leadership of outreach activity (student recruitment, marketing and communications, widening access to Oxford, and widening participation in higher education through aspiration-raising activity in the local area). We are also looking to make a senior appointment to support the external and internal commitments of the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach.

The postholder will be expected to take a lead with the Director in developing the strategic direction of the UAO, and the operational management of admissions and outreach activity. This will feed in to the development of policies on admissions, for which the office is responsible, on which the Director works together with a Head of Undergraduate Admissions Policy. The postholder will be expected to develop approaches to encourage and support cross-team working within the UAO, as well as activity to develop collaborative working on outreach activity across the wider collegiate University. The successful appointee will work with colleagues throughout the University's departments and colleges, and will need to liaise with colleagues in other institutions, as well as with potential applicants in the UK and overseas, and with parents and advisers.
