Senior Policy and Economic Adviser, BBC Policy & Strategy

We’re recruiting for a Senior Policy and Economic Adviser to join our Policy team, based in London. It’s a role with real impact and the opportunity to influence senior level decision making.

Our team is the guardian of the BBC’s understanding of its regulatory and public policy environment. It manages the BBC’s relationship with key external stakeholders and leads the development of public policy positions.

Reporting to the Controller UK Policy and working closely with the Controller International Policy, you’ll be responsible for providing day-to-day advice on regulatory and economic issues relevant to the BBC, at a UK and EU level. You'll also contribute to policy development across the range of the BBC's activity, represent the BBC’s interests with external stakeholders.

You'll have proven experience as an economist or policy specialist, gained within either a competition/regulatory authority, government department undertaking policy formulation in the communications sector, a consulting environment or a major communications sector company. An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you'll be confident presenting complex data and arguments, advising senior managers and stakeholders, and engaging with external government and regulatory authorities, on a range of policy issues.
