Position Summary
The level of this position is a provisional grading

Manage Category Contract - and Supplier Management processes within Procurement Management. Manage the implementation of appropriate standardised strategies, operating models, policies, processes and procedures for effective Contracting, Contract Management and Supplier Management. Manage integration between Procurement Categories and Business Units, and between Procurement categories and Strategic Sourcing Teams. Ensure the integration of Procurement Management with Supply Demand Management, Materials Management and the Projects Procurement environment. Manage the relationship between the function and its Key Stakeholders.

- Implement effective methods to maximise ‘on-contract’ spend and availability
- Ensure and manage measure that guarantee contract availability
- Manage, monitor and promote compliance to governance
- Drive principle and ensure that contracts are supported by sourcing plans
- Implement plans to promote contract automation
- Train, develop and coach subordinates in business acumen to grow and reach their full potential
- Demonstrate the ability to translate strategy into tactical plans that the teams can execute
- Measure, improve & report business performance
- Communication (this pertains to communication at all levels e.g. executive level, co-senior managers and operational level)
- Manage Contract Management to ensure securing of supply, legal compliance and contractual risks mitigation
- Adopt new processes, systems and management practices to improve Strategic Asset Management
- Implement and ensure consistent standard supply chain strategies and processes
- Assist in complex contractual procurement issues

REQUIRED OUTPUTS: GENERAL (overall objectives/key areas of performance to be included in the performance agreement):
- Govern all contracting activity, govern all contracting processes and to manage and motivate the entire personnel establishment, set and manage the entire budget of this department, liaise with P&SM Functional Management in TSS and Business Units, liaise with internal stakeholders, liaise with Senior Management of key Suppliers, and manage all associated activities required at this level.

Other specific outputs are to:
– Ensure the roll-out and compliance to the Corporate- and Business Strategy;
– Implement effective policies, processes and procedures to ensure maximum on-contract spend, maximum contract automation and drive utilization of automated contracts by end-users;
– Drive integration and compliance to Group Procurement policies and procedures
– Ensure function’s compliance with the appropriate business processes for the entire group of companies
– Ensure legal compliance in general, with specific reference to the Competition Law, Sarbanes Oxley Act, Section 197 of the Labour Relations Act, the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the South African Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Practices Act
Job Requirements
1. QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES:
Essential: B degree with / NQF level 6
Preferred: MBA

2. SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:
12 to 18 years experience in a Supply Chain environment with proven Procurement managerial experience
