Transnet LEAN LEADER

Transnet Rail Engineering, an operating division of Transnet SOC Limited, requires the services of the following suitably qualified person at its office in Kilner Park:

Reporting directly to the Strategy and Continuous Improvement Manager, the successful candidate will develop and deploy best practices of Supply Chain Management Strategies in order to maximise efficiencies and optimise resources. He/she will also instil Quality Management System in procurement processes and coordinate Supplier Relationship Management.

Primary outputs: • Provide functional expertise on projects in support of business objectives, with an emphasis on Transactional Lean Six Sigma Focus • Coordinate the alignment of performance measurement of the Business from GM Level to shop floor level through monthly reporting and Letsema concept • Act as a co-driver of change within the business, supporting Management/cross-functional decisions by communicating the enterprise-wide changes to employees and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s Lean Six Sigma culture • Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction and increase market share via the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies • Assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities utilising voice of the customer (VOC), organisational, analytical and Lean Six Sigma problem solving methodologies • Ensure that quality is embedded and the QMS System is sustained across supply management • Coordinate Vendor Performance Rating and Classification in order for the SM Business to be able to manage supplier relationships • Administer the Lean Six Sigma SAP System for SM and report monthly • Constantly maintain Process and Procedural Gaps driven by development of Supply Management Strategies.

Minimum requirements: • BTech: Industrial Engineering • 5-8 years’ experience in the Career Ladder/Career Path in a Supply Chain environment • Experience in a helpdesk/support desk environment.

Knowledge: • An understanding of SAP R3 and/or other Vendor Management-related solutions • Sound knowledge of Supplier Performance Evaluation • SAP SRM would be an advantage • A successful track record of delivery and performance.
