Job Purpose
  • Identify and drive the delivery of synergies resulting from the Etihad strategic partnerships, by engaging with the group company procurement functions across the spectrum of supplier contracts in pursuit of overall lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the group, ensuring at the same time that best practice is shared amongst procurement and end-user functions of the related organisations.
  • For Etihad group companies under the management control of Etihad, working with the respective procurement functions, implement measures to align the process, governance and compliance mechanisms covering supplier spend in line with general Etihad policy, identifying and, as required, suggesting methods for resolving exceptions and/or non-compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the strategies that will take forward Etihad Airway’s Procurement & Supply Management Department in its evolution, and assist the business in leveraging better value from its suppliers by engaging in specific sourcing projects from time to time.
Responsibilities
  • Unlock the value of Etihad’s partnerships in the area of supplier spend:
  • Source, negotiate and execute standard agreements across a range of Etihad Airways direct operating cost (DOC) categories. Working with the stakeholders, co-ordinate engagement by the relevant Etihad procurement team and/or business units with partners to prioritise and deliver the identified synergies.
  • Report consolidated activity and progress to delivery, and cross-check strategies, with the Etihad P&SM function.
  • Integration of group company procurement processes and activities:
  • Establish requirements to adjust individual group company procurement procedures in order to achieve appropriate alignment with Etihad, and work with senior management stakeholders within Etihad and group companies to implement such changes and share procurement best-practise across the group.
  • Identify and quantify synergy opportunity across the supplier spend base which create value to Etihad, in particular at Abu Dhabi, and coordinate and/or lead activity to prioritise and deliver such benefits for the group.
  • Manage the stakeholder relationships within Etihad and group-controlled companies to ensure effective delivery of process change and synergies.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of Etihad Procurement and Supply Management through:
  • As directed, development and/or delivery of strategic initiatives relating to P&SM with the aim, for example, of strengthening the P&SM role within Etihad; continuous improvement of procurement processes; staff capability and experience development.
  • “Hands-on” delivery of specific strategic sourcing projects for Etihad and/or group companies, as directed
  • Provision of leadership and guidance to the P&SM process improvement workstreams, championing suggested developments at Procurement Leadership Team level and leading delivery of agreed changes.
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification from a reputed institute (or equivalent career experience) preferably relating to Procurement or Supply Chain.
Experience:
  • 10+ years experience in multi-national companies/airline/airline service providers in Procurement or Supply-chain Management and Strategic decision making of cost control, Business Development Management
  • Continuously identify and determine optimum source of supply in terms of Price, Quality, and lead-time, Monitor and analyze suppliers of all products, evaluate historical data and update potential suppliers list and make a decision.
