Position Description:
 
The LEGADA project is an online training program and educational initiative working to address the issue of domestic abuse.   Serving multiple language communities, LEGADA builds and supports a virtual network of lawyers working on domestic abuse issues, disseminates information to raise public awareness, and educates victims on their rights and available legal and support services. The Program Officer II manages the implementation of the LEGADA program components supporting its Farsi/Dari/Tajik language community.
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Works with Project Manager to support program goals, timelines, and deliverables;
  • Works with Project Manager to implement program monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Monitors, strengthens, and maintains administrative, reporting, and other project-related systems and policies;
  • Supervises and mentors staff and provides training in systems, policies, and regulations;
  • Reviews and processes contracts, invoices, consultant payments and other financial documents;
  • Manages implementation of trainings through content development support, administrative and logistical support for training staff and training related activities, and monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Manages and updates project, training, and resource materials, and supports development and translation of new materials;
  • Monitors and contributes to production of quarterly e-newsletter;
  • Monitors administration and maintenance of program website;
  • Monitors administration and maintenance of program database;
  • Conducts program related research, translation, and special projects as requested.
 
Minimum Requirements: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree and five years experience or Master's degree and three years of office/administrative work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Written and oral proficiency in Farsi, Dari, or Tajik language
  • Experience and/or interest in domestic abuse issues
  • Strong organizational skills, including task and time management. Proven ability to take responsibility, initiative, be flexible and work independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities in multiple locations, and to be responsive, meet deadlines, and act decisively in daily work;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to play an active role in team environment essential;
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
  • Excellent computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet software, and experience with databases.
