El Salvador GCC Adaptation Specialist


Education: A Master's degree in an environmentally related subject area is required Language Proficiency: Level IV (Fluency) English and Spanish level IV is required. Work Experience: At least 10 years of progressively more responsible international work experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Central American climate change policies, environmental, development and management issues is highly desirable.
Position Description: Responsibilities of the Adaptation specialist may include, but are not limited to the following: (1) Serve as Strategic Objective Manager for the Adaptation sub-award, (2) Provide technical leadership and support, (3) Advise and support CCAD and other key SICA institutions in the development and implementation of adaptation initiatives; (4) Provide advice to USAID in regional or international discussions of issues relating to adaptation and related issues; (5) demonstrate experience in assessing climate change impacts and designing projects that reduce those impacts; (6) excellent analytical, writing, communication, presentation, and training skills.
