With the increasing frequency and severity of emergencies world-wide the organisation is increasing its capacity to support programmes in both sudden onset and chronic emergency situations.
Our Emergency Response Team is a team of internationally roving experts who are deployed on medium term assignments to respond effectively to emergencies world-wide. They give immediate emergency focused expertise in responses, add to capacity in the event of a 'scaling up' of country programmes and advise and training where needed to build ability in individuals and country programmes.
About the role
The Finance and Grant Manager Emergency Response Personnel (ERP) will provide financial and grant management inputs in emergency response programmes, and ongoing support to develop best practice emergency financial management procedures and processes. The main aspects of the role are : member of the finance and grants team in Save the Children emergency responses providing support to response budget preparation, monitoring & reporting, proposal development, award interim & final reporting and award close out; support the capacity building of a range of staff, both finance and non finance, in their financial professional development; contributing to the development and advancement of policy and procedures; providing short term interim financial management and/or capacity building support to ongoing emergencies, Fragile States and/or country/regional programmes.
About you
We’re looking for professional accountants with experience of working ‘in the field’ in a finance and grants related position.
You’ll have a solid working knowledge of the requirements of the major donors and experience in budgeting and reporting to donors. Patient, diplomatic and an experienced negotiator, you’ll be able to stay flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances and be willing to be deployed up to 80% of the time.
You’re a naturally analytical thinker and can prepare complex financial reports while adhering to donor requirements.
